A study on endemicity of Leprosy & utilization of Health services in selected areas of Korchi Tahsil, Gadchiroli district.

Activities undertaken: Through the Leprosy Mission Project we had reached to 10,000 households. This survey was done by home visits and face-to-face interviews, which were conducted in 129 villages of Korchi Tehsil/Block in the Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra. The project was initiated from January 2009 and completed in August 2009. The total project cost was 7 lakhs and funded by Alert India and sub contracted by Indian Institute of Youth Welfare Organization, Gadchiroli District.

For conducting project activities, we nominated one Volunteer for every 40 households, and one supervisor for each village, one Project health assistant and one overall Project In charge. Weekly meetings were organized for reviewing the project activities and reports were sent.
